Maximum likelihood estimation of a log-concave density and its distribution function and its derivative: Basic properties and uniform consistency

Annotation:

We study nonparametric maximum likelihood estimation of a log-concave probability density, it's derivative and it's distribution function. Some general properties of these estimators are derived from two characterizations. We also establish that the left derivative of the nonparametric maximum likelihood estimate (NPMLE) is the consistent estimate in L2 norm.
