Opinion Mining (OM) or Sentiment Analysis(SA) represents the process of learning human opinions, attitudes, relations or emotions based on the text. It is one of the most popular topics in the field of natural language processing. Its popularity is due to the fact that human opinion is important in almost all activities and our behavior depends on it. An increase in interest in sentimental analysis research coincides with an increase in the popularity of social media, where consumer reviews, discussions, or blogs abound. The process of obtaining the information is very important, but it is also a difficult task. There are huge amounts of digitally recorded data, and by their analysis we can understand the meaning behind those texts(positive, neutral, negative) . And based on the results we can make predictions about future events. Research on Sentiment analysis is sometimes mistaken to be only used and processed in computer science. In reality it’s power has become externally useful and important for management and social sciences as well. The main aim of this paper is to present research methods and various techniques of sentiment analysis (SA) and opinion mining (OM). In the research, I will discuss research methodologies, various techniques and their use cases for sentimental analysis. In addition, I will discuss application areas of it and challanges with both, English and Georgian languages. Paper will describe the process of creating an application that will be working on Georgian and English data. With the help of the application, we will analyze the data and determine which sentiment (positive, neutral, negative) predominates in the text.
