Study of the KM3NeT/ORCA4 detector response to the atmospheric muons

Author: Giorgi Kistauri
Annotation:

KM3NeT is a research infrastructure housing the next generation neutrino telescopes. Located in the deepest seas of the Mediterranean, KM3NeT will open a new window on our Universe and contribute to the research in the high energy neutrino astrophysics and the properties of neutrino particles. The master thesis is about KM3NeT project and its main aims. Thesis includes the description of the KM3NeT computing model and Tier-2 computing at Tbilisi State University. In the thesis ORCA4 detector response to the muon flux was studied with help of Tier-2 computing. The experimental and simulated data from the ORCA4 detector was analyzed in order to study the detector response to the atmospheric muons.
