Some geographical aspects of Batumi urbanization

Annotation:

The paper presents the development process of Batumi urbanization, indicators of urbanization rate and pace. In this respect, what is its place among cities of Georgia, being included in the “Big Four”. Also, according to January 2020 data, Batumi is on the first place by its density. It left the capital Tbilisi behind, which has the biggest area and in the first place in terms of population, where also is a urbanization “boom”. The reasons for these facts are presented. Positive and negative events accompanying urbanization process of the city are discussed. What causes its development, also attracting factors for living in the city. An additional attractive factor for Batumi is that it is by the sea. It also differs from the cities of the “Big Four” by this. How this affects education, employment, business sector in the city. All of this is presented in my work. Current issues accompanying Batumi urbanization process are raised, issues are clear and also the measures are also shown, which will be needed to eliminate the problem.
