Reactions of ferrocenylnitroethylene with indoles

Reactions of ferrocenylnitroethylene with indoles have been studied. Ferrocenylnitroethylene reacts whith 2-phenylindole in formic acid giving 2-phenyl-3-(2-nitro-1-phenylethyl)indole; the same reaction in the presence of phosphorous acid affords spiro product 4 ’- phenyl-2phenyl-spiro(indole- 3,5-isoxazole).
